Vovan, Stella Nguyen
Stella N. Vovan serves as Counsel at Fortis LLP and is an integral member of the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate Department.
Ms. Vovan’s legal practice focuses on all aspects of estate planning, including probate and trust administration. For over 10 years, she has helped families plan their estates with revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other business, tax, and estate planning strategies. She has extensive experience assisting clients in trust administration. She also works with clients all over the country to navigate the court-supervised probate process after the passing of a loved one.
Ms. Vovan also counsels clients on transaction matters, including general and corporate business counseling, corporation formation, and real estate. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Vovan is a licensed CA real estate broker. Her real estate background has enabled her to counsel clients with their real estate acquisitions and dispositions from both a legal and business perspective.
Before joining Fortis LLP, Ms. Vovan represented clients in a broad range of business litigation matters including actions involving contract disputes, real estate, commercial and residential landlords and tenants, probate, trust, and other general civil litigation.
Ms. Vovan received her Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. She received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. While in law school, Ms. Vovan had served as a teacher in “Street Law”– a nonprofit organization that creates classroom and community programs that teach individuals about law, democracy and human rights worldwide. By helping to improve the teaching of law and understanding of relevant legal principles, Ms. Vovan’s efforts empowered youth and adults to use their knowledge to solve problems and better their communities.
Ms. Vovan is admitted to practice law in all California Courts and the United States District Court, Central District. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
